Hello my name is Frank Brown:
This is a very exciting time in my career. I am humbled to have been named principal of Burnet STREAM Magnet Elementary. A campus with such a rich history and named in honor of David G. Burnet, the first Interim President of The Republic of Texas 1836.
I'm just a country boy from East Texas. I grew up in Crockett, Tx. and attended Crockett ISD, after graduating from Crockett High School , I attended Sam Houston State University, where I received my Bachelors of Art in Criminal Justice, I have my Master in Education and Administration from Grand Canyon University, and earned my Superintendent Certification from Harris County Department of Education.
After completing my Bachelors degree at Sam Houston, I returned home to Crockett to give back to the community that had poured so much into me. I worked 1 year for the Texas Youth Commission as a Youth Activity Supervisor at the Crockett State School. I later became the first African American Juvenile Probation Officer for Houston County in Crockett. As I continued to expand and progress in my career, I accepted a job in Houston, Tx. as Juvenile Parole Officer for the Texas Youth Commission where I served for 8 years.
In 2006, I made one of the best choices of my life and that was to change my career to become an educator. I accepted my first teaching job at Fort Bend ISD as a Special Education Teacher, Coach; eventually becoming a History Teacher. I had developed such a true passion for teaching and coaching which inspired me to want to become an administrator.
My first administrator position was an elementary assistant principal at Peete Elementary with Tyler ISD. I would later have to relocate back to Houston for personal reasons where I became an assistant principal in Fort Bend ISD for Lake Olympia and Bowie Middle Schools, where I gave dedicated service for 10 years.
In 2018, I received my first principal job in Coldspring/Oakhurst ISD, where I served the scholars, staff and community for 3 years, where I was successful in achieving high academic success, putting scholars needs first and coaching and growing teachers. I would later transition to Wharton ISD, then eventually get an opportunity to serve in amazing, school district and a supportive community here in Galveston.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that Galveston ISD has afforded me in being the principal of n all 6th grade campus at Austin Middle School for two years, naming me the 2023-2024 "Secondary Principal of The Year" and now the principal of Burnet Elementary.
As principal of Burnet Elementary, I am here to "Serve", the Scholars first, as well as the parents, staff and community. I am truly humble and grateful for this opportunity. If there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting many of you and shaking hands with you.

After graduating from high school in a small Tennessee town, I went to Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Elementary Education as well as English literature. I did my student teaching as well as my first year teaching at Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I returned to the states and taught elementary school in New Jersey and Boston, MA. After living in Boston for three years, we moved to Galveston. While living in Galveston I taught elementary school at Rosenberg Elementary for three years then I taught at Oppe for sixth years. We moved to Colorado where I taught middle school and went to school for my Master degree at Adam State University. After receiving my degree in administration, I worked as an Assistant Principal. After ten years in Colorado, my family and I returned to Galveston eight years ago. I have worked as an Assistant Principal as well as a Campus Facilitator at Scott/Collegiate. This is my first year at Burnet as an Assistant Principal.
I am very excited to be at Burnet and feel a real connection to the school and to the community. Burnet is a very strong school and I am very proud to call myself a Burnet Pirate!
